ICEH’s Diabetic Retinopathy Network (DR-NET) has published a collection of research related to diabetic retinopathy programmes in Sub-Saharan African. The research has been created by members of the network working in screening and treatment programmes in Africa.

The research questions and methodologies have been prioritized by clinical and research teams working on the delivery of DR services and respond to relevant gaps in knowledge a programme activities conducted in those settings. This supplement offers context specific research to inform the planning and implementation DR screening and treatment programmes in similar settings.

The supplement is guest edited by ICEH Research Fellow Cova Bascaran and includes an editorial from the DR-NET team and seven other articles from Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana and Uganda.
