Powering Programmes Impact

Many areas with the highest prevalence of unaddressed sight loss struggle to develop programmes that can reach those in need, ensuring that everyone is screened, diagnosed and treated.
Peek Vision is a social enterprise that began as an ICEH research project in 2012. Peek initially developed the world’s first clinically-validated visual acuity smartphone test, enabling health volunteers to provide simple vision checks through their phone in remote areas.
Since then Peek has expanded into a software system that enable eye health programmes to screen people, analyse the data they create, design programmes and track the patient journey to treatment and beyond. This ensures that no one is left behind and eye health services can operate efficiently and at scale.
As of mid-2025, Peek has now been used to screen 14 million people and connected 1.5m people to eye care, with numbers increasing exponentially. Peek is powering 80 live programmes in 12 countries through a wide variety of partnerships.
ICEH and Peek continue to work together closely, collaborating on research projects, service programmes, education and data collection. All of Peek’s products and services are validated through trials.
